Abstract:
Standardized tests provide a basis for evaluating lubricants for compliance with specifications and for evaluating the efficacy of additives. Since such tests are not always relevant to application conditions, modifications of variables including test materials, application methods, advanced data acquisition procedures and precisely controlled test parameters can reveal measurable changes in lubricity. More effective screening of materials is possible when such modified test methods are used, and this presentation will give several examples.
