Abstract:

Passenger vehicle OEMs are developing more hybrid and fully electric vehicles (EV). EV technology is rapidly evolving, generating new lubrication challenges. This presentation will discuss drivers for the EV revolution and explain why electrification is an attractive route to improved fuel economy and emissions. The associated lubrication issues include impacts on electric motors and driveline components, however other challenges will also be identified.
