The State of STLE
Biography:
Michael Duncan is the executive vice president of technology at Daubert Chemical Co. in Chicago. He is a former Chairman of the STLE Chicago Section and is currently STLE National’s Executive Committee Secretary and slated to become STLE President in 2019-2020.
Mike is a native Chicagoan and a graduate of Illinois State University and the University of Illinois, having achieved a doctorate in organic chemistry. Mike has worked in the field of tribology for the past 30 years. Previously he has held R&D positions with the Ethyl Corp. (now Afton Chemical), Uniqema (now Vantage Oleochemicals), D.A. Stuart (now Houghton International), Keil Chemical (now part of Dover Chemical), BP (Castrol Industrial) and Fuchs Lubricants.
Mike’s lubrication and tribological knowledge and interests covers a number of areas including water-based metalworking fluids, metal forming fluids, component chemistry and synthesis, corrosion preventive coatings, adhesives and global regulatory compliance.
