Development of non-PFAS Based Greases:
Securing Performance with New Technology

Presented By:
Dr. Jason Galary, FUCHS

ABSTRACT:

As rules and regulations concerning perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) become more numerous and far reaching, the need for alternative technologies has become clear. FUCHS R&D has been preparing for this possibility for over 4 years now, and in 2024 began to implement the findings of this research in the development of non-PFAS based products offering equivalent or enhanced performance to PFAS-containing technologies. A discussion of where PFAS-containing greases are used, application requirements, and testing performance of non-PFAS alternatives will be presented.
